This place is awesome. Old school home cooking. Cash only.
Lets see. 12.75 for two puny sandwiches two sodas and one small brunswick stew. The stew was tasty but the sandwiches were cold. Cold bread. Cold meat. Barely any slaw at all on the cold meat. The enc sauce was really good. The service was friendly. For the money to portion ratio not so good. That fried chicken looked good. I should have ordered that.
Had the ham, collards, and rutabagas. All wonderful! And good amounts. Got 2 quarts of collards for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Great home cooked food. Home grown veggies. A good variety of foods. Something for everyone. Get there early for the BBQ chicken days. Best homemade banana pudding! Get it while it's hot!
Not sure of any other restaurants you can go to where they actually grow the vegetables they serve! Awards and accolades all over the walls. Everything on the menu is delicious, so you can't make a wrong decision here. Cafeteria style service accepting cash or check. There is an ATM on site for those of us who do not carry cash. Banana pudding has already been mentioned, but can't forget to give a shout out to sweet potato muffins made from a secret family recipe, chicken battered and fried by hand, BBQ chicken and pork cooked for hours over wood in the on site cookhouse (ask for a tour while you are there.) Like I said, you can't go wrong!
